Overview
Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Training for Improved Diagnostic Accuracy and Patient Safety: Join us for an interactive training designed to enhance your clinical skills using Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS). This session focuses on teaching hospitalist how to accurately acquire and interpret basic ultrasound views at the bedside, leading to faster, more informed medical decision-making. By learning to evaluate unstable patients in real time, you’ll improve diagnostic accuracy and reduce delays in diagnosis—ultimately increasing patient safety. POCUS serves as a valuable, complementary tool to the clinical exam, strengthening your clinical judgment and enabling you to provide more precise, high-quality care.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify basic applications of point of care ultrasound in the care of hospitalized patients.
  2. Demonstrate ability to acquire basic Point of Care Ultrasound views with correct probe placement.
  3. Develop proficiency in interpreting normal and abnormal images from Basic Point of Care Ultrasound exams.
