We Collaborate: Improving The Connection of Mind and Body - Behavioral Health Conference

We Collaborate...for the consumer. To obtain the best possible outcomes for individuals suffering from mental health disorders there must be collaboration among interprofessional service providers. To be most effective with this strategy there needs to be education and actionable steps to be taken to ensure collaboration. This will be the focus on this conference.

1. Identify and implement effective strategies for improving communication and information sharing between physical and mental health providers to enhance patient care coordination and outcomes.
2. Define best practices for fostering interprofessional collaboration between physical and mental health teams, emphasizing shared goals, mutual respect, and streamlined workflows.
3. Utilize communication frameworks that prioritize patient-centered care by integrating patient preferences, cultural considerations, and shared decision-making across physical and mental health disciplines.
4. Examine ethical considerations in communication between physical and mental health services, including patient privacy, consent, and the responsible sharing of sensitive health information to ensure compliance with APA and legal standards.

Registration Fees

Physicians: $35.00
Non Physicians $25.00

The registration price is the same for both physical and virtual attendance.

Day Of Information 

This conference will be held at Sentara Park- Virginia Beach Conference Room located at 1330 Sentara Park, Virginia Beach, VA 23464.

Registration and breakfast will begin at 7:30 am. Opening remarks will begin promptly at 8:00 am.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (4.00 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (4.00 hours)

Sentara is accredited by the Southern States CME Collaborative to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

1. Physicians: Sentara designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 4.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
   

2. All Other Learners: All other learners will receive a Certificate of Attendance for 4.00 hours of education .  Consult your professional licensing board regarding the applicability and acceptance of certificates of attendance for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organization accredited by the Southern States CME Collaborative, an ACCME Recognized Accreditor.
   

3. Psychologists: Four hours of continuing education credit will be awarded to psychologists. The Macon and Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Macon and Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
