Overview
This course is designed to provide an update and overview on the most common cardiovascular conditions seen in primary care, and to provide the primary care physician with a sound framework with which to approach patients with cardiovascular symptoms. Designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and other health care professionals.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify sign and symptoms of cardiovascular diseases commonly seen in the primary care setting.
  2. Recognize the correct initial diagnostic evaluation of patients presenting with common cardiovascular symptoms.
  3. Appropriately refer patients to subspecialty consult services for evaluation and disease management.
