Overview
The conference covers topics including pain management, symptom control, psychological and spiritual support, communication with patients and families, ethical issues, grief and bereavement, end-of-life care planning, and provider self-care. The program includes keynote speakers, didactic presentations, case studies, and interactive sessions that allow participants to learn practical skills and evidence-based strategies for delivering compassionate and effective palliative care.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Explain how palliative care interventions improve quality of life for patients with serious illness and their families, and differentiate the roles of primary and specialty care providers in delivering palliative care.
  2. Apply effective communication strategies for conducting difficult conversations with patients, families, caregivers and colleagues.
  3. Develop a personal action plan for improving communication skills when talking to patients with serious illness and their families.
