Pulmonary Hypertension Symposium 2022

There is tremendous need for education of licensed care providers regarding how to evaluate patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH) and the need for timely referral and treatment at centers specialized in this disorder. Early identification and treatment of PH is required because advanced disease may be less responsive to therapy. Treatment begins with a comprehensive diagnostic work up, assessment of disease severity, followed by primary therapy. Primary therapy is directed at the underlying cause of the PH.

1. Identify signs, symptoms and risk factors associated with PAH to facilitate timely referral of patients.
2. Describe diagnostic tests used to identify patients with PAH.
3. Discuss the pharmacologic management of PAH patients.
4. Implement a more rapid and multidisciplinary approach to earlier detection of PAH.
